ASUS launches the Zenfone AR

Asus is looking to be making waves in the market with the ZenFone AR – which launched on 13th July.  It was available exclusively on Flipkart from 4 pm IST the same day. The phone appears to be quite pricey at first glance, but there are plenty of things worth talking about this phone.

The ZenFone AR comes with a large 5.7 inch quad-HD Super AMOLED Display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. In terms of storage, it packs 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB internal storage. What’s even more jaw-dropping is that this can be extended to 2 TB using a micro-SD card. In addition to the RAM, what promises to make the performance of this phone truly outstanding is the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The phone comes with Android 7.0 Nougat.

Let’s now talk about the features which make this phone stand out. Asus has been working with Google at the forefront of Project Tango, which has enabled the ZenFone AR to be the first phone to support both Tango and Daydream. Flipkart has also sweetened the deal with a Daydream View VR headset worth Rs. 2500 to go with the phone.

The camera is another highlight. The rear camera is a 23 MP module with f/2.0 aperture with four-axis optical image stabilization, 3x zoom. The rear camera has two more modules which track the depth and motion, allowing users to shoot 4K video at 24 fps apart from the usual 1080p. The front camera is also decent with a 8 MP module.

It also has the standard connectivity options including Wi-Fi Direct and hotspot. Not to mention the 3300 mAh battery, the accelerometer, gyroscope, different sensors and SonicMaster 3.0 technology for an amazing audio experience.

Considering so many outstanding features, we believe this is a device worth investing in. Although, it comes in at Rs. 49999, and is only available in black.
