Smartphone camera plays an important role in determining the quality of the device. For competing in the top tier of devices, a good camera in your phone is now becoming the criterion to stand out amongst the crowd. These days with the evolution of technology, smartphone cameras have taken a huge leap and few are even compared at par with professional DSLR cameras. We’ve got good technology in our phones like imaging sensors ranging from PDAF, iso-cell sensors from manufacturers like Sony, Samsung and many more. Let us dive in and check out the devices with the best rear-camera till date.
1. Google Pixel XL
Google Pixel is the continuation of the Nexus series by Google, but this time the device is completely refined and created by Google (earlier there used to be a different vendor). 3. Apple iPhone 7 Plus
Apple sets a benchmark by launching a new device and even this year they have succeeded in doing this. The dual camera setup in the Apple iPhone 7 Plus is something amazing. The dual-camera has been in the market since a few months back with different devices coming with such setup but none could deliver the performance, unlike Apple’s implementation. It has a dual 12-megapixel sensor, one wide-angle with f/1.8 and another telephoto with f/2.8. The advantage of the setup is that one can zoom any picture taken at a later stage and the software optimized zoom works flawlessly, one can’t distinguish the difference. You also get features like live bokeh, optical image stabilization, quad-LED flash, phase detection auto-focus, wide color capture, face and body detection; 2160p@30fps video recording. A little high priced but worth the money spent!

4. Huawei P9
Huawei P9 is a serious camera phone, the device has two camera sensors setup at its back. It uses two SONY IMX286 Exmor RS image sensors, for which known camera-makers Leica has provided SUMMARIT f/2.2 lenses. This is how both the camera come into action, one camera captures the image in color while the other captures the image in black and white. This helps in improving the image quality in low light, and you can also adjust the aperture of the camera to get the much-desired bokeh effect. The only downside is the slightly slow focusing speed of the camera. The device is powered by a Kirin 955 SoC, which is not as powerful as the SoC’s by Qualcomm, like the Snapdragon 820, 821 but still manages to be respectable throughout. Also, this is one the best designed and well-built phones we have seen in the recent times.

5. One Plus 3
OnePlus has set its benchmark in the smartphone market with OnePlus One. Though the second iteration wasn’t that great as it was hyped but again they have raised their standard this time with OnePlus 3. This device is made with great precision from top to bottom. Now coming to the camera, the 16-megapixel Sony IMX 298 sensor is something great that happened to this device. The device reflects true colors in the image, very fast image processing, and zero shutter lag and you get it all at a very average price compared to the top-notch devices. Its camera is at par comparable with top tier flagship so one can understand how good it performs.
