Oppo earlier unveiled Find X – the smartphone with a motorized or pop-up selfie camera. The smartphone is now getting an upgrade. According to Chinese regulatory site TENAA, there seems to be a new version of Oppo Find X with 10GB of RAM.
Most common RAM options available on phones range from 4 to 8 GB. The use of 10GB of RAM will be the first of its kind. More RAM doesn’t necessarily mean smooth working of the phone you need to tweak your phone in order to get the maximum out of your headset.
Even laptops of today often ship with 8GB of RAM in their base model. The MacBook Pro by Apple costs upwards of Rs 1 lac and features just 8 GB of RAM.
The TENAA listing reveals to no other changes in this version of the phone other than the RAM. It will still have the same seamless glass construction with 93.8% screen to body ratio. Equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and 10 GB of DDR4 memory, this may help the new OPPO Find X deliver some extremely high performance. The device will also feature OPPO’s own VOOC charging.
10 gigs of RAM sounds like overkill for a mobile phone. But then again, 8GB of RAM wasn’t common too long ago either.
No word on the release date yet, or whether it’ll be available in the Indian markets, but expect to pay handsome amount of cash for that extra RAM. Rumoured pricing is estimated to be around 7,999 yuan (Rs 86,000).
