There is good news for all the owners of HTC One A9. It is expected to receive an update of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow in near future. Much anticipated in the beginning of this month, HTC One M9 is also set to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates along with HTC One A9.
Unfortunately, this update is only limited to the unlocked variant sold in America. As of the reports there is no such thing mentioned that the unlocked HTC One A9 owners outside US would receive the update.
HTC One A9 was the second smart phone with pre-installed Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, the first being the Nexus headset. The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for HTC One A9 users is said to be a minor update compared to the original release.
It will be arriving with bug fixes and the latest set of emojis. Google Keyboard also gets updated once you update your HTC One A9 with the new Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It also brings in the December Security Update for Android devices alongside slight tweaks such as tallying overhauled navigation buttons for tablets.
According to 9to5Google, a leaked roadmap of Android 6.0 rollout disclosed that the new Android version is set to release in the first quarter of the January 2016. It has also been said that the update should receive HTC One A9 over the air.
Users should be invited to update their devices automatically once the software update is announced. In any case, users can also get access to the software by going to Settings > About > Software Update to see whether an update is available or not.
The HTC Butterfly 3 is also set to get Android 6.0 in the first quarter of 2016. Smartphones like HTC One E8, One M8s, Butterfly 2, Desire EYE, Desire 826, Desire 816, Desire 626 and Desire 526 are scheduled to get Android M update in second quarter of 2016.
