Lava is a well known Indian smartphone maker who has been around the market for quite some time now. Lava is mainly in the budget segment where it offers affordable phones generally under the Rs 10,000 bracket.
However, the arrival of some of the big Chinese smartphone companies such as Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo has made quite a dent in its smartphone sales. But this has somehow not stopped the company from launching new smartphones when feasible.
The Lava Z50 is one such device and the most important thing about it is the fact that it has Android Go running on it. Android Go is actually a modified version of the Android Oreo which runs on devices having low RAM and storage.
As such, the device doesn’t have many high-end specs given its price-tag of Rs 5,000. The phone comes with a 1 GB RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. The 5-inch TFT LCD display has an HD resolution and also a 2.5D curved glass protecting the screen.
The phone is powered by a MediaTek SoC which can be clocked up to 1.1 GHz. The phone has 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera to go along with it. There is also a 2,500 mAh battery which goes along with the device. It is available for purchase from Amazon and Flipkart as well as Lava’s offline outlets.
