Rumor has it that Xiaomi is about to launch its next sub-brand; another feather in the hat after Redmi and Mi. Although we don’t have a name yet, things do appear to be more of a strategic punch to mobile makers like Oppo & Vivo, who are continuously diluting the market shares with cheap models & sharp cameras.
Xiaomi & it’s Multiple Brands
The Redmi and Mi series are majorly focussed to appealing online customers. But in recent times, Xiaomi’s close rivals Vivo and Oppo have shown a lot of success with their offline sales. Both own thousands of retail outlets across China and according to numbers, they have succeeded at tapping into the consumers in the process.
Xiaomi (which sold a million Redmi 4s in a month recently) has also expressed its desire to capitalize on offline sales. This might mean that Xiaomi will be opening more Mi Home outlets across the country, with thoughts being given to hiring a top celebrity as the ambassador for its new brand.
The newly leaked photo partially reveals the backside of the new Xiaomi brand showing a dual camera setup, much like its competitors OnePlus 5 and Oppo R11. The photo also reveals a dual-LED flash alongside volume rocker and a power button.
Excluding the positioning of the flash, the phone is somewhat similar to the iPhone 7 Plus. The antenna bands visible in the photo can also be seen running across just like in iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
Oppo has had a lot of success recently after it sold nearly 23.16 million smartphones this quarter. The Redmi Note 4 has also become the highest shipped smartphone in India. And the numbers remain jaw-dropping due to the quality & innovative phones that Xiaomi makes, without denting putting a dent in the pocket.
Let’s hope Xiaomi outshines its current legacy with its upcoming brand. Until then, if you wish to let go of your old device, get an assured sale within 48 hours at much better deal via Cashify.
