The Ultra-Cheap LePhone W2 Has Launched

Chinese conglomerate LeEco has come out with an entry level phone for India. Called the Lephone W2, it comes with a price tag of Rs 3,999.

Specifications

The Lephone W2 comes with a 1.3 GHz quad core processor paired with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card.

As the phone is extremely meagerly priced therefore it does not possess any flashy specs. Also the phone will be available only via offline channels and includes a support for 22 regional languages to attract people from the rural areas of India as well. The connectivity options offered by W2 include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, USB, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, and FM radio.

On the camera end, the Lephone W2 features a 2 MP rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front facing camera which is nothing but 0.3 mega-pixels. And, for the display screen, the company has included a 4.5 inch FWVGA display panel. On the software end, it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based company’s very own 360 OS.

Trouble at LeEco

However, reports for firings at LeEco India have been doing the rounds for some time now. Its mid-range offering was the LeEco Le 1 and LeEco Le 2, which sported premium specifications for their pricing, but failed to boost the company’s fortunes in India.

LeEco is the umbrella company for businesses which includes sports media, automobiles, smartphones and TVs.
