GizmoChina has reported and claimed that the next phone from Chinese manufacturer OnePlus would be most likely called as the OnePlus 5T. It may also be debuting around the time of November this year.
Two In A Year, Again
This is not the first time OnePlus has released two phones in a single year. Last year as well the Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus released the OnePlus 3T five months after releasing the OnePlus 3 with the new 3T having only minor changes such as an increase in the processing capabilities.
However, not much information has been revealed regarding this new 5T smartphone from OnePlus apart from the fact that the Chinese smartphone maker will be giving the phone a bumped up 6-inch QuadHD display which will have an aspect ratio of 18:9. With this rumour it looks like OnePlus is now jumping the bus with other smartphone makers for whom it has now become a trend to add a massive bezel-less display to give a more premium feel to the phone.
Several renders obtained by GizmoChina have shed some more light on the rumoured display of the phone. Looking from the front, the OnePlus 5T is appearing design wise quite similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8 having minimal bezels on the top and bottom and both the sides are nearly bezel-less giving the phone a very aesthetically pleasing look. The screen also has the look as though it appears to curve, not unlike the S8 and Note 8, but from this point and the report of GizmoChina there seems to be no confirmation if the OnePlus will be implementing a curved screen display on its phone.
OnePlus 5 Stock Exhausted
Also there no other information is available currently regarding the updated new phone from OnePlus even though there have been several reports emerging of the OnePlus 5 stocks finishing from many parts of the world according to another report by GizmoChina. It is being alleged that the date for release of this new OnePlus device has been slated as November 13 and as the unveiling of the phone approaches close we should be getting more new information regarding the OnePlus 5T. It is also entirely possible that the phone may infact be called as the OnePlus 6.
In more recent news OnePlus had earlier in September released a new Over the Air (OTA) for its latest flagship, the OnePlus 5 and it comes after more than a month when the previous update, OxygenOS 4.5.10 was released. Screenshots that were posted on the OnePlus forum post of the new OTA updates shows that the Android security patch in the OxygenOS has been updated to September.
