OnePlus 6 vs iPhone X

OnePlus 6, the smartphone that the entire world had been waiting for is finally here. Some parts of the tech world have been calling the phone the best smartphone in its price segment. At a starting price of Rs 34,999, it can be said that there are not many smartphones which offer the Snapdragon 845 SoC.

The phone has been part of a massive social media campaign with the slogan “The Speed you need”. It would seem that this is exactly what the OnePlus 6 is giving users. Earliest benchmarking sites have indicated that the OnePlus 6 is currently the fastest Android phone on the planet, beating the likes of the Galaxy S9 and the Pixel 2.

However, when it comes to popularity you cannot take the crown away from Apple and its latest flagship devices called the iPhone X. Let’s compare the two devices.

In terms of hardware, we can see that the iPhone X has 3 GB of RAM along with the A11 Bionic Chipset which is accompanied by 64 GB and 256 GB storage variants.

The OnePlus 6 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC along with 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, 6 GB RAM + 128 GB, and 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variants. However, it can be said without a measure of doubt that the A11 Bionic chipset smokes the Snapdragon 545 chipset. So we have to give the iPhone X due credit as the fastest phone on the planet.

Coming now to the camera we can see that both the phones have a dual-camera system which has been aligned in a vertical manner. The iPhone X has 12 MP + 12 MP sensors. One sensor is a telephoto lens which enables 2X lossless zoom while the other is a wide angle sensor. Both the sensors have optical image stabilization and also there is the capability of the Full HD video at 240 fps. In the front, we have an 8 MP camera which has a fixed focus and can also take selfie portrait photos.

The OnePlus 6 has 16 MP + 20 MP setup out of which we can see that both of them have an aperture of f/1.7. The phone uses dual-pixel technology to generate a picture combining the pixels from both the sensors to give great shots even in low-light. Only one of the cameras has OIS. On the front, we see a 16 MP sensor which at the moment cannot shoot front-facing portrait photos. Again we can see that the iPhone X has an edge with its superior camera sensors and technology.

The OnePlus 6 and the iPhone X are both great phones but the iPhone X does edge out the OnePlus 6 on two main aspects which are camera and performance. However, considering the iPhone is worth nearly and lakh and the OnePlus 6 is less than half the price, it can be said the OnePlus 6 is really worth the money.
