OnePlus is all set on releasing its upcoming smartphone – the OnePlus 6T, in a few weeks. The launch is highly anticipated and a lot is on the line for OnePlus as well. The company has faced stiff competition from rival brands in the Indian market from the likes of Xiaomi and Asus.
OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has already confirmed that the company will ditch the headphone jack for the 6T. But this time it will use an in-display fingerprint reader – this will replace the traditional fingerprint scanner which was present on the back of the phone.
Teasers on Twitter by the company also suggest a new notch design. It will be much smaller than the notch present on the OnePlus 6. OnePlus calls it water-drop notch. Smartphone case manufacturer Olixar has put out its OnePlus 6T cases up for pre-order showing the design of the phone wherein the water-drop notch and lack of headphone jack are visible.
According to other reports, Amazon India will provide free USB Type-C headphones for those who pre-order the OnePlus 6T. In addition to the free earphones, you’re also getting Rs 500 Amazon Pay balance.
Talking about the specifications, the internals will pretty much resemble the OnePlus 6, with a Snapdragon 845 processor with up to 8 Gigs of RAM. FHD+ 1080p 6.4-inch AMOLED display Panel. A dual camera system on the back and a 3,700 mAh battery with OnePlus own fast charging technology. The device might run Android 9.0 out of the box.
The OnePlus 6T is rumoured to start at $550 (Rs. 40,000 approx) and is expected to launch on 30th October. Remember to sell your used smartphone on Cashify before you upgrade!
