Phablets, a concept of Samsung which was started off with the Note series, which received mixed responses from critics. This hybridization between a phone and a tablet was something very new and innovative from Samsung and was quickly taken up by other manufacturers as well.
Providing a large screen which is awesome for media and data usage but still keeping the device ‘pocketable’ is the gist of this innovation. And so, how could our beloved Apple, who has this sort of habit of perfecting things, stage down from this race?
With the iPhone 6 Plus, Apple entered the arena with a huge bang and a big screen, but how does this fare against our former phablet king, the Note 4?
Oh yeah, the all important specs. Let’s check out an overview of the on-paper specs of these beasts.

So looking at the above comparison, we can see that the Note 4 is a hair better than the 6 Plus on paper. But does that remain true in the real world? Let’s find out.
The build quality and looks of a device are very important to most users. We all love phones which have premium feels and it makes us feel royal somehow.
Well, both these devices have awesome designs and while Samsung has gone from plastics to metal and leather, Apple hasn’t changed much from it standard approach of aluminum. Both these devices are great but from a hardware point of view, the Note 4 is clearly slightly better than the 6 Plus.
Note 4-1 6 Plus-0
Now, this is something we can’t actually compare without clear justification.
While the Note 4 runs Android with the Touchwiz UI, the 6 Plus runs iOS which has a completely different approach. iOS has a more minimalistic approach but is faster and snappier, Android, especially TW, provides an array of awesome features. It’s down to personal preference on what you like and value the most.
So we can’t have a fair winner here. It’s a draw.
Note 4-1 6 Plus-0
These two bad boys perform and yeah, they perform well. With such high end specs, it would be a shame if they hand any underline performances.
While the Note 4 clearly has an edge in its specs, the 6 Plus makes up to this by using the minimalistic and light OS. This clearly smashes any benchmarks thrown at it. But in the real world it is hard to notice a difference.
Still, the iPhone is better with is simple interface.
Note 4-1 6 Plus-1
Having a decent camera will always be a priority to most users, and we can happily say that both these beasts won’t disappoint you at all.
While the Note 4 clearly has a huge advantage over the 6 Plus because of its better equipped shooter, the 6 Plus shutter isn’t any bad too.
May it be still capturing or video modes, the Note 4 clearly wins.
Note 4-2 6 Plus-1
Both these devices are super-high end devices and come at staggering prices. If you want one of them, you will surely have to loosen up your pockets for it.
Their price range is similar and thus, no competition there.
Our score remains,
Note 4-2 6 Plus-1
Before we conclude with the results, we would like to tell you that this is just one approach of pitting these devices together and it will be clearly down to personal preference for you to buy any one of these.
The Note 4 with its new and improved design along with a plethora of specs takes this trophy from the 6 Plus but not by much of a gap. The iPhone is still awesome, but the Note 4 has its edges sharpened.
