Chances are you probably haven’t heard of the Samsung Galaxy Stellar. Or maybe you had but can’t recall. The Samsung Galaxy Stellar was a Verizon exclusive back in 2012. Now, almost half a decade later, a gallery of images with the Stellar 2 moniker has been leaked along with the specs. Let’s round them up.
It is worth recalling that the Samsung Galaxy Stellar had a 4” 800X400 display, 1 GB RAM and was driven by the Snapdragon S4 Plus processor. If the images of the Stellar 2 from the leak source are anything to go by, then we’ll see that the Stellar 2 is a compact midranger with a 4.5” 720p (1280X720) AMOLED display. As far as the design is concerned, we do see that the design of the Stellar 2 has changed to an extent from its predecessor, with a physical home button, doubling as a fingerprint scanner, and two capacitive keys, instead of four in the original.
The storage features 2.5 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 64-bit octa-core processor runs the device, which notably comes with Android 7.0 (Nougat) pre-installed.
Camera & Connectivity
The primary camera of the Stellar 2 is a 5 MP sensor while the secondary camera is 1.2 MP only. On the positive side, this device should offer good battery life with a 3500 mAh battery and Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging to go with it. The device offers 4G LTE connectivity. The Stellar 2 is reported to be priced around $99-$102 as discussed by various sources.
Smartphones have evolved drastically since the Stellar came out back in 2012. What remains to be seen is whether the Stellar 2 does get launched eventually at all and sees the light of day. Would you switch loyalty if it were to release?
