Samsung may mostly be known for the Galaxy Series such as the S9 or the upcoming Note 9, but before the onslaught from Chinese smartphone makers such as Xiaomi, Samsung was actually the biggest vendor of mid-range smartphones in the country.
The Galaxy On6 is one such device which has been launched as a Flipkart exclusive and has been on sale on the site since July 5. The price of the On6 happens to be around Rs 14,490. Even though it would seem that this is a tad bit on the higher side, the hardware on the device seems to be good enough.
The device comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 256 GB via a microSD card. The Galaxy On6 is powered by an Exynos 7870 1.6GHz, Octa-core processor and surprisingly runs on the latest “Android Oreo”. This is surprising because Samsung has a very bad history with software updates, especially for the lower level phones.
In the display department the phone has a 5.8-inch AMOLED display and since it has been made by Samsung we can expect the display to be top notch. The device is currently available in two colour variants — Black and Blue.
Coming now to the optics, we can see that the phone has a 13MP primary camera on the rear and also there is an 8 MP camera on the front for selfies. Both cameras come with the f/1.9 aperture to work better in low-light conditions. The phone also has the additional feature of face unlock on the front camera.
