Unless you have a very strong brand preference. There are literally hundreds of phones to choose from. Here’s our list of the top 5 cell phones for 2018. Please note: phones listed are in no particular order.

Pixel 2XL

This Google Pixel device is tailor made for stock Android lovers. The biggest USP of this device is its clean and clutter free UI.
It being a Google device, you also get OS and security updates on it before anyone else. The screen is colourful and vibrant, but does lagg behind its Samsung counterparts, which does make the best smartphone displays out there.

Under the hood, you get the powerful Snapdragon 835 SoC which, as you’d expect, runs anything you throw at it without any lag or hiccups. As far as mobile photography is concerned, the Pixel 2XL can click some solid looking photos and is perhaps the best smartphone camera out there.

OnePlus 6

The Shenzhen-based Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oneplus first came into limelight when they released their first device – the Oneplus One. The device was an instant success, thanks to its offering of top notch specs at very reasonable rate. OnePlus, with its sixth generation device, tries to do the same. A flagship processor from Snapdragon and powerful cameras, coupled most importantly with its attracting pricing, makes the OnePlus 6 one of the best smartphones you can buy in 2018. A Pixel-like software experience can be achieved as it is running on Oxygen OS, which offers lots of useful options without too much effort. 

iPhone X

This very expensive iPhone is the go to phone for iOS lovers. While it did begin officially shipping during November-December 2017, it’s more a of 2018 phone as it’s honestly spent a lot more time in 2018 than it did last year. The iPhone X features a 5.8-inch OLED display with a Face ID facial recognition system replacing Touch ID. The six-core A11 Bionic chip ensures it runs smooth. The obnoxious name aside, this device is surprisingly good and probably the most underrated device of 2018. The octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with Adreno 630 GPU make this phone a very compelling option. The phone is also packed with some of the best audio specs, including DTS:X 3D Sound and a Boombox speaker, so an audiophile would love this phone.  AI powered cameras on the rear and the front are present on the ThinQ as well. All this at just Rs 40,000 makes this phone one of the best.

The Others

A few other devices that are worth mentioning include the Pocofone F1 by Xiaomi at a starting price of Rs 21,000. All the high-end specs you get this phone make it a very attractive buy. The only letdown is its plastic build.

The Oppo Find X another phone that is worth taking a look. The Find X comes with a 6.42-inch FHD+ AMOLED Panoramic Arc Screen making it distinct from all the others.

Another phone worthy of a mention is the Vivo V11 – a phone with an in-display fingerprint reader and a powerful Snapdragon 660 chip. All this and much more at an attractive price of Rs 26,000.
