The best thing about today’s generation is the number of phone launches we are seeing almost on a daily basis. Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi along with rivals Oppo, Vivo and Honor are constantly launching one device after the other. As it so happens, we have to see a few more key launches happening in the month of August as well along with other launched products that will start to go on sale in the same month as well
Galaxy Note 9
It would seem that the most anticipated device that will launch in the month of August has to be the Galaxy Note 9 smartphone. The company itself has released a teaser which has pointed out the exact date of the global unveiling which is 9 August. It is being assumed that along with the Note 9, Samsung will also be launching the Galaxy Watch in New York. Its cases have already leaked.
Reports have stated that the Indian launch of the Galaxy Note 9 will happen between 12-16 August and it will most probably go on sale in the first week of September. Pre-orders for the device begin from 19 August in India as per a report by Firstpost. The device will most likely have the same design elements as the Galaxy Note 8 before it.
It would seem that after launching the Nokia X6 in China nearly two weeks back and unveiling the device as Nokia 6.1 Plus in European markets, HMD Global will be bringing the device to India as well. The estimated release date has not been revealed as of now but as per 91 mobiles, the X6 would most likely be launched in the month of August. No pricing details are out but it is believed that the X6 will cost somewhere between 14,000 to 15,000. The big feature for the Nokia X6 is the display notch on the top of the phone giving it a 19:9 aspect ratio.
Xiaomi Mi A2
One of the most anticipated (and leaked) devices from the Xiaomi stable has to be the Mi A2. The phone has been already launched in Spain and it would seem that the rest of the global markets are soon to follow. The Xiaomi Mi A2 runs on the Google’s stripped down Stock Android 8.1 OS which makes it quite easy to provide fast updates for the device. India happens to be a very big market for Xiaomi, so we can expect to see the device launch here quite soon. Various reports have indicated that Xiaomi could be launching the device within the next two weeks in the country. We shall have to wait and see if its true.
Nokia AI is also being touted to launch in the month of August, with 91mobiles reporting an August 29th release date. The Nokia A1 would be one of the most powerful Nokia devices till date, with an octa-core Snapdragon 845 processor.
Xiaomi has already announced the Mi 8 series in China and it could very well be making a move to launch the device globally in India. August 30th is most likely when we could very well see the device here, although it can’t be said for certain which model of the Mi 8 will be unveiled.
Oppo F9 Pro
Launching in India on 21st August, its V-shaped notch sets this smartphone apart. The price for this device from Oppo is rumoured to be somewhere around Rs.25,000.
The Xiaomi-backed Pocofone F1 is all set to launch on 22nd August. Releasing in the variants 6GB RAM+64GB storage & 6GM RAM+128GB storage, the former edition of this is expected to arrive at around Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 27,000 in India.
