This year has been so far amazing in terms of smartphone launches. We got to witness flagship phones using the new Snapdragon 845 SoC, along with the growing trend of having notches on the front of the display to the new triple-camera setup that we saw on the Huawei P20 Pro.
Coming to our country, there are loads of highly anticipated smartphone launches that we can expect in the month of July. There are several mobiles from brands like Samsung to Sony and there seems to be a lot which is actually stocked for the tech freaks to enjoy in the year 2018.
Samsung has the biggest list of smartphones that are about to come in the month of July. Among the phones that Samsung has already launched, it would seem that the Galaxy J series is the most likely to get a massive upgrade in terms of new phones in its already populated lineup of devices.
There’s no confirmed word out yet but we could see the launch of the Active version for the Samsung Galaxy S9 as per a report by Tom’s Guide. And also it seems that Samsung is ready to launch its next-gen flagship device, the Galaxy Note 9 globally next month as per a report by India Today and it can be safe to assume that the phone will launch in India around the same time period as well. It is being touted to be priced at anywhere in the range of Rs 70,000-80,000. Since the Note 8 launched at Rs 75,000, this should be accurate.
Next, it has to be the Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi that has been making many waves recently with so many of its smartphone launches. It seems that there is no more space on its lineup to keep up with the new devices. Xiaomi is planning to launch a successor to the highly praiseworthy Mi Max 2 smartphone on July 3 – the Mi Max 3, according to BGR. Multiple sources expect the price to be in the Rs 17-18,000 range.
Though there are no clear signs of it, Xiaomi could also be looking to launch the Mi 8 in India so that it can take the competition to OnePlus in the budget flagship market. However, as Xiaomi did not launch the Mi 7 nor the Mi 6 in India the chances of that happening seem to be very slim.
Rumours are also afoot the Mi A2 will soon make its appearance in the country. It was spotted in leaks very recently, and is expected to launch at a very similar price as its predecessor – at around Rs 15,000.
There also seems to be a word out of the Sony stable that the Xperia XZ2 Compact could be making its way to India soon enough. A report by 91mobiles has said that Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact could be in Indian stores by the 24th of July, pegging its expected price at Rs 44,990. We shall have to see after Sony makes the announcement official.
Finally if it is not June then most certainly in July we shall see the upcoming Nokia 9 flagship smartphone which is being tipped to be the most perfect Nokia device till date, with pricing expected to be around Rs 41,000. And of course, the X6 is rumoured to be arriving around the 18th of July according to 91mobiles, which expects it to be priced at Rs 13,890. How much of that will be true can only be assessed once the phones drop in July. No more releases seem to be scheduled, though we shall let you know if there are.
Lenovo-owned Motorolla will launch the Moto Z3 Play in the first week of July as per a report by GSMArena. Independent sources are pegging the expected price in the range of Rs 33,000-39,000.
The Moto E5 makes an appearance in July too. An Amazon exclusive, it’s priced at just Rs 10K on July 10th.
Oppo & Vivo
Oppo’s trendsetting Find X, which took the tech world by storm thanks to its unique looks and design, heads to India on 12th July. It will be priced at Rs 79,000 according to MySmartPrice.
Meanwhile, sister company Vivo will be putting out a very similar phone – the Nex, in the Indian market on the 19th of July. It will be priced at about Rs 39,000 according to MySmartPrice.
