Xiaomi’s MIUI has been long sustained as the main user interface in nearly all of Xiaomi phones. There have been several questions on the interface, with many claiming that the UI should be dropped in favour of stock Android. An online poll asking the same question was deleted by Xiaomi after maximum votes favoured MIUI.
30 Device Rollout
However, MIUI is here to stay, and it will be there for most of the upcoming Xiaomi smartphones. Xiaomi has now revealed that the MIUI 9.5 will be rolling out to over 30 devices in India. These devices also include the newly launched Redmi 5, Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi 5A smartphones.
As it stands, both MIUI 9.0 and MIUI 9.5 are actually based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The fact of the matter is that the interface is actually full of heavy customizations, that forces Xiaomi to make the UI longer than the other companies. Xiaomi actually totally changes its entire Android skin, making it a full generation behind when it comes to Android versions.
As far as the changes go, there’s a new notification shade feature which is present for bundles of notifications and also a Quick Reply feature. There will obviously be new security updates to the software as well.
