A. Rukmani Trust is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) set up by professionals from diverse fields. The Trust focuses on bridging the rural-urban digital divide in education using the power of technology to create an empowered India. Technology has transformed the delivery of education. The COVID-19 pandemic has further propelled the need to reinvent new ways to reach education online. The lack of infrastructure and resources have prevented communities in rural India to participate in this transformation.
A. Smartphones that support 3G/4G internet connectivity can be donated. After we collect them, these devices will go for refurbishing. Followed by this, the beneficiaries will be handed over a set of refurbished smartphones.
A. You may donate dead or feature phones. However, they will not serve the purpose of educating children as they can’t be used for online classes. They will be sent to our e-waste processing unit. In order to make a meaningful contribution, we request you to donate only devices as mentioned in the previous answer.
A. You may donate laptops and tablets. The laptops and tablets will be replaced with smartphones of equivalent value which are sent to the children. Choose the option for tablets/laptops at the bottom of the device selection screen above, to donate laptops/tablets.
A. Please follow the simple steps above and book a free pickup for your device. We’ll then assign an executive to visit you and collect the device.
A. All devices go through complete factory reset so that there’s no data left in them and your cyber-safety is intact. Don’t worry, we make sure that our donors have the utmost security while making their contributions.
A. We will need you to share a copy of your identity proof in order to validate the ownership of the device you donate.
