Oppo R11 comes as a brilliant mid-range phone designed for midrange performance. Priced at Rs. 29,999, it is a capable device that could give a fair fight to its midrange rivals.

Oppo R11 arrives as a decent model and delivers on it. It comes as a good match between design and hardware capacity so that it can have a great use value as a mid-range phone for its target mid-range audience.

Oppo R11 will draw eyes on it due to its premium look. A few pros and cons of this set are:

  • It has a rigid and comfortable design which has a near-premium feel.
  • The Oppo R11 has a potent GPU that enables it to run 3D games.
  • Oppo R11 comes with a mammoth 3000 mAh battery that can easily remain active for an entire day.
  • The selfie king comes with a stunning selfie camera all set to product high-quality selfies.

  • The Oppo R11 has a dated display arrive at 1080p when most competitors have Quad HD display.
  • The performance of Oppo R11 is decent but not potent enough to run graphic-intensive games smoothly.
  • The rear cameras have a tendency to over-sharpen images. Low-light images falter and appear grainy.

The Oppo R11 may disappoint in certain aspects but for the most part, it appears to be an accomplished phone. It is a worthy phone for the mid-range user who has a soft corner for selfies.

Expert Opinion

Oppo R11 scores well on the mid-range level bringing in all the necessary aspects like performance and display to make it stand out as a capable phone in the market.

Oppo R11 has a 5.5-inch screen with 1080p resolution. It is a disappointment when you consider how modern phones are moving to the Quad HD resolution. However, it comes with AMOLED display, which offers punchy colors which are well-saturated. You get to see the deep blacks which are a speciality of AMOLED displays. However, the maximum brightness is quite dim, and this results in issues with sunlight legibility. It will be challenging to read on the screen of R11 when you are present in harsh sunlight.

Display Resolution1080 x 1920 pixels

The R11 is designed almost like an iPhone. It has a metal unibody and has a similar build with rounded corners so that it can sit comfortably in the palms without a problem. It has a thickness of 6.8 mm which makes it quite slender, and it is quite light as well, coming to a weight about 150g. The weight may seem too light, and it may indicate that the phone is not sturdy. However, you do get a premium feel. The design also draws a bit from Samsung Galaxy S8, when it comes to the thinness and the minimal bezels on the screen. So, on the whole, the Oppo R11 is a good-looking phone, but it does not come with anything of its own; instead, it combines the designs of existing premium phones.

Oppo R11 comes with the older but reliable Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. It is a wonderful processor which was able to get past Google Pixel on benchmark tests. However, it fails to reach the same level of performance as the Snapdragon 835 which powers the Samsung S8. However, when it comes to performance, Oppo R11 performs well enough. You won’t find any problem while you are multitasking and streaming videos. The phone has a strong GPU, and so you can play intensive 3D games on this set. However, the phone does lag when it comes to taking photos, thereby proving the performance to be worse than Samsung S8 or OnePlus 5.

The Oppo R11 has a dual rear camera: one 16MP with an f/1.7 aperture and another 20MP with an f/2.6 telephoto lens. It can also provide 2x optical zoom which helps with image processing. The camera can take decent photos in daylight and delivers good contrast and plenty of details. The colors are quite sharp and lively. However, the images of the sky can turn out to be over-sharpened. The telephoto lens, which offers 2x optical zoom, is quite good when the lights are adequate. The portrait photos turn out well with accurate edge detection to bring out the subjects properly.

However, when there is low-light, there is a loss of details and the visual noise present on the photos increase. However, they are still visible.

The 20MP selfie camera turns out to be quite great. It preserves plenty of details and has good colors to it. Plus, you can click Portraits using the selfie camera. It has good edge detection too. The selfie camera is quite powerful and brilliant.

Since the demand for battery life is rising, it is necessary that each phone has a good battery. The Oppo R11 comes with a 3,000 mAh battery. The stamina of the phone is good and can last for one day. Playing a video on a continuous loop on this phone found that it can last for an average of 14 hours 45 minutes which is of course not the great heights of OnePlus 5 (which reached 17 hours) or Galaxy S8 (which reached 16 hours), but is quite impressive, beating iPhone 7 Plus’ 12 hours. It also comes with a fast VOOC charging standard and gets to 65% within half an hour and 100% within one and a half hours because of the fast charging.

Battery Capacity3000 mAh
Battery TypeLi-Po

The Oppo R11 is a reliable phone though it lags many of the features. Some significant points in its favor are the fast charging tech and the AMOLED screen. While it does have a good performance, it is still an older model. It has an excellent design, but it does not stand out and resembles the existing flagships without offering anything new. On the whole, it is a great set for anyone desiring a phone with flagship features, though you cannot get the best performance out of it. For better performance, the affordable OnePlus 5 is the phone to go for.
