Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) is one of those phones that seem to have it all. The phone is designed with care for durability and style, is easy in hands, embedded with high quality cameras, lightening fast in working and has a great battery life. If that isn’t enough, in-built features for cloud backup, privacy and mobile transactions bring this phone pretty much close to being an ideal example of a complete package.

Galaxy J7 (2017) boasts of zero camera protrusion metallic finish body with a 5.5″ full HD display protected by a 2.5D glass shielding. The 13MP main camera captures reality in greatest detail even in low light. Above that, the moving shutter button makes photography easy, instinctive and enjoyable. With a 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage expandable upto 256GB, this phone ensures quick and hassle free multitasking. Added to that, Samsung Cloud Backup makes management easier, while fingerprint sensor and Secure Folder keep your data safer than ever. This is a phone that will always stay on display without eating battery besides making your mobile payments easier.

If you are not looking for a gaming phone and your Smartphone usage is seldom intense, then there is very little in Galaxy J7 (2017) that can disappoint. This phone truly is value for money. It has an exceptional battery, performs smoothly, looks decent and has an easy to eye display which makes it one of the top phones in its price range for personal or professional usage.

Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) – As Close as it Gets to being a Complete Smartphone!

The full HD 1080 X 1920 pixel 5.5″ display is pleasant and your eyes would not be strained whether in sun or in dark. The screen to body ratio is 73% and colour quality is better than most phones in its price range.

Even though it is not a phone that will turn heads, it isn’t dull either. The metallic body provides a touch of elegance and imparts the classic Samsung look like that of Note 8. The front has an oval button with two capacitive buttons with headphone jack and micro USB port housed at the bottom. The phone feels nice in the hand but you will mostly have to use both hands. The left side has volume button and SIM card slot. The phone does not have a waterproof body which seems to be the only lack on the design front.

Galaxy J7 (2017) is powered by Exynos 7870 which might not be the latest for this price range of phones but is nevertheless satisfactory. The processor has Mali-P830 GPU which is not suited for gaming that involves high-quality graphics. The 3GB RAM ensures that your Smartphone experience never turns out to be annoying, except if you really want to test its limits rather than put it to regular usage that it is meant for. Multitasking is hassle free, and overall, the phone is a joy to use.

The camera is anything but like what it promises on paper. One can easily figure out that picture quality is lower than most other phones in similar price bracket. The sensor is lazy to adjust to light, optical stabilization is lacking and photos in poor light carry noise. To make the matters worse, the shutter speed is merely 1/17th of a second leading to frequent blurs. The colours lack contrast but the pro mode balances some of the deficiencies by offering brightness correction.

Galaxy J7 (2017) has a battery of 3600mAh – one of the best in its price range. It would last a day easily on regular usage including some surfing and online videos but it lacks fast charging feature and USB Type-C port which makes the battery and charging feature somewhat outdated.

Battery Capacity3600 mAh
Battery TypeLi-Ion

Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) boasts of strong essentials, especially on the inside. If you are a no-nonsense Smartphone buyer, this will quite surely be your phone. It will not be a bad phone for anyone else either. Few small things such as USB Type-C port, better camera quality and waterproof body would have made this phone the best in its price range. Nevertheless, it would remain a tough competitor.
