Amazon recently introduced Amazon Prime Lite subscription in India costing Rs 999/- year instead of the normal plan of Rs. 1499/- per annum.
Prime Lite and Amazon Prime are similar with some minor tweaks.
Amazon Prime Lite members don't get access to Prime Reading and Amazon Music. Whereas with Prime original you get all that.
Amazon said Prime Videos in Lite will display ads. However, Amazon Prime videos original has no ads as such. And the ones which are there can be skipped instantly.
Prrime Lite also doesn't include 4K streaming on Amazon Prime Videos, no-cost EMI, Prime gaming or free e-books.

If you plan to use your Amazon Prime subscription only for shopping on Amazon, then the Amazon Prime Lite subscription is the right choice for you.
But if you also want access to prime music, films, TV series, and books, you should pay the additional Rs 500 and get the premium plan.
