iPhone XR Long-Term Review: Outdated Charm or Just Not Worth It in 2024?

DESIGN

The iPhone XR showcases a colorful and unique design with a slightly heavier build, offering a solid feel and quality materials, though it has larger bezels compared to recent smartphones.

DISPLAY

It features a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina LCD that, while not OLED, provides excellent color accuracy, especially in skin tones, making it a high-quality display despite its lower resolution.

PERFORMANCE

Powered by the A12 Bionic, it delivers smooth, fast performance across apps and games, enhanced by fewer pixels to push, which allows it to be slightly faster than the XS.

BATTERY LIFE

The larger build allows for a big battery that matches the longevity of the XS Max, providing impressive battery life that comfortably lasts through the day.

CAMERA

Equipped with a single rear camera with Smart HDR, it excels in both photos and video, capturing high-quality dynamic range and vibrant colors; however, the front camera and software bokeh could use some improvement.

vERDICT

In November 2024, the iPhone XR feels outdated in almost every aspect, from design to performance, and lacks the features expected in a modern smartphone; better options are available even in the mid-range segment.
