Review Summary

The demand for TWS earbuds has grown over the years, and the fact that most smartphones no longer come with a headphone jack adds to the growing demand. You can find a lot of earbuds ranging from pocket-friendly rates to premium prices, equipped with great features and sound quality in the market. In that scenario, where does the JBL C100TWS stand that we shall know in this JBL C100TWS review?

The JBL C100TWS was launched in 2019. But is it outdated for today? Or is there some scope for them, given the current market condition? Honestly, I have been using this earbud for almost a month now, and there is a lot that I have to say in this JBL C100TWS review, including the sound quality, battery life, additional features and more. • Weight: 58 grams

JBL C100TWS Design And Comfort

I have used the white earbuds for my JBL C100TWS review. Starting with the charging case first, the case has a matte finish and does give a premium look upon viewing. The JBL C100TWS comes in a semi-round shape. On the top, there is the JBL brand name marked.

There are three LED lights on the charging case that shows the battery status. The case is made up of lustrous plastic, and the overall build quality is quite decent. The back of the case features a charging port.

Being compact in size and weighing just 58 grams, the JBL C100TWS is really convenient to carry in your jeans pocket. Moving to the buds, they are placed inside the case and are made up of decent plastic with silicone eartips. Both the buds have LED lights and a built-in microphone. Furthermore, each bud comes with a button that can be used to perform the action.

The buds have an on-ear design and can fit comfortably in your ears. You can also choose your preferred ear tip from the options given. However, wearing the buds for long hours and while lying down was a bit discomforting.

Although the buds feature an on-ear design but stay in place when walking, running or doing light exercises, note that the buds are not waterproof or sweatproof. Hence you have to be a little careful when using them in light rain or during sweaty gym sessions.

JBL C100TWS Audio Quality

JBL has focused on perfecting the bass quality with the JBL C100TWS. The overall sound quality of the earbuds is good. However, the audio at maximum volume does sound a bit distorted, but the mids and lows are balanced perfectly.

I used the buds for listening to different types of songs, including Bollywood, Rock. Hip Hop, Jazz and more and I really liked what it had to offer for the price. The earbuds come with a 5.6mm driver but will leave you wanting more.

Talking about the call quality, I used the JBL C100TWS for receiving calls most of the time, and I have tested the buds in almost all settings now. Be it the office, my house, cafe, traffic and more, the call quality never really dropped.

Also, the person on the other end was able to hear my voice quite clearly. Hence, I would definitely recommend this earbud if you want an excellent sound at a decent price.

JBL C100TWS Battery Life & Charging

Next, in my JBL C100TWS review, I will share my battery experience using the buds. The company claims to be offering 5 hours of playback time without the case and 17 hours with the case. However, the battery life totally depends upon the level of volume you are using the buds.

JBL C100TWS battery

In my case, I used the buds at 50 per cent volume and was able to get a playback time of around four and a half hours. But when I set the volume to 70 per cent, the battery life decreased to three hours. So, it totally depends on how you are using the buds.

Furthermore, the JBL C100TWS does not support fast charging, and it will take you around 2 hours to fully charge the battery. Also, the charging case can offer up to three additional full charges to the buds.

JBL C100TWS Features & Connectivity

The JBL C100TWS comes equipped with Bluetooth Version 5.0. There is no issue with the connectivity, and you will get a reliable and stable connection throughout. Pairing the earbuds with your smartphones is easier as well. Note that there is no pairing button, but you can do so using the Bluetooth option on your phone.

JBL C100TWS features

Just take out the right earbud from the case, and it will connect with your smartphone if Bluetooth is on. You don’t have to do anything with the left earbud. However, the left one will connect automatically when you connect the right earbud.

So, losing the right earbud will mean the JBL C100TWS is no longer useful as the bud won’t be able to connect only. The JBL C100TWS features button control. So, in order to perform an action, you need to press the button given on the buds. Pressing the right earbud once will play or pause the song or accept or reject the calls.

Pressing the left earbud once will change the song. While pressing the left earbud twice will take you to the previous song. If you want to activate Google assistant, you need to tap on the right earbud twice. The controls are really responsive but they are limited when compared to other earbuds like Vivo TWS 2 or Realme Buds Air 2.

Also, there is no dedicated app for the JBL C100TWS.

Verdict

That brings us to the end of the JBL C100TWS review. If you have a tight budget of Rs. 3,000, you can go for this TWS earbud. The earbud works well for its price. Sound quality and battery life are good enough for your day-to-day usage. However, the catch here is that if you lose the right earbud, the device won’t work. If you can ignore this major con, you are good to go. Overall, the JBL C100TWS is great in terms of design, sound quality and call quality.
