Google Pixel 6 Launch in India

Google’s Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have been formally unveiled after months of speculations, leaks, advertisements, and even more theories. For the first time, none of the new phones uses a Qualcomm processor; instead, both use an in-house chipset. On top of that, Google’s own machine learning hardware is built-in into this new CPU.  Besides having a 90Hz OLED display and a horizontal camera bar on the back, Google’s Pixel 6 also comes pre-installed with Android 12. Google Pixel 6 price in India 

You may get the Google Pixel 6 in two different storage capacities in a similar fashion to the current Pixel 5, including 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. Pricing starts at $599 for a model with only a 128GB capacity (roughly Rs 45,900).  In the U.S., the Pixel 6 is available in three colours, which are Kinda Coral, Sorta Seafoam, and Story Black. The Google Pixel 6 is available for pre-order in 8 different countries including the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Taiwan and UK. There is no information yet on the Indian availability. 

Google Pixel 6 Design 

With its redesigned appearance, the Pixel 6 stands out from the rest of today’s top smartphones. There is no camera array in the phone’s corners anymore; the cameras are now spread out over the back of the smartphone. 

Besides being functional, the horizontal bar on the Pixel 6’s rear acts as a visual separator between the two tones of colour. The brighter hue of the narrow strip above the horizontal bar contrasts with the more subdued colour of the rear of the Pixel 6.

Furthermore, the phone’s display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, which is more scratch-resistant than that of prior Pixel models. The Pixel 6 also has an in-display fingerprint sensor and a punch-hole cutout for the front camera, which helps to reduce the size of the phone’s bezels.

In terms of display, Google’s Pixel 6 has a 6.4-inch OLED with Full HD+ resolution. Pixel 6’s refresh rate dynamically changes from 60Hz to 90Hz based on what you’re doing on the screen, which is another feature provided by Google.  When using HDR content in High Brightness Mode, the Pixel 6 can produce up to 800 nits of brightness.

The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro both have the same new Tensor processor, which is built on the company’s own technology.  The Pixel 6 is one of the first two phones from Google to not use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset. The tensor is paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. So, you can expect smooth performance here with seamless multitasking. Unless you’ve been keeping up with Google’s software upgrade betas, the Pixel 6 will be your first look at Android 12.0 when it ships.

The Pixel 6 has two back cameras, much as previous Pixel flagships. However, you won’t find the usual twin 12-megapixel cameras seen on Google’s handsets here. The primary camera of the Pixel 6 is a 50MP wide-angle lens. A 12MP ultrawide-angle camera with a 114-degree field of view joins the group.  Magic Eraser, a new function arriving with the Pixel 6 launch, allows you quickly and easily erase people and objects from the background of your photos. The front camera of the Pixel 6 camera system is 8MP, which is ideal for taking selfies.

Google Pixel 6 Battery

The Pixel 6 will feature a larger battery in order to take advantage of the Tensor chip’s claimed power efficiency. Google lists the battery capacity of the Pixel 6 as 4,614 mAh. That’s an improvement over last year’s Pixel 5, which used a 4,000 mAh battery. There is quick charging on this phone, but it is not as fast as you would find on some other Android smartphones. It has a maximum output of 30W and can charge the phone from zero to fifty per cent in about 30 minutes. There’s also Qi wireless charging. In addition, you’ll need to bring your own USB-C charging cable or utilise wireless charging, since the Google Pixel does not come with one.  

This seems to be a dramatic (and much-needed) change for Google’s Pixel line of smartphones. With its mid-range price tag, some speculated that Google was conceding defeat to Apple and Samsung in the high-end smartphone market. However, Google has returned to annoy the major players with an aggressively priced pairing.
