The South-East Asia Region (SEAR) of the World Health Organization (WHO) has launched a “Quit Tobacco App.” This app assists people in quitting smoking in all forms, including smokeless and other emerging products. Tobacco smoking increases the risk of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, chronic lung disease, and diabetes.

As per the report shared by the WHO, tobacco smoking is the most significant preventable cause of death globally. About 8 million people globally, including 1.6 million people in the South-East Asia Region, which is home to some of the world’s greatest tobacco producers and consumers, are killed by smoking each year.
