Amongst all things that were unveiled was also watchOS 10 and its features that will start rolling out on the Apple Watch Series 4 and its subsequent iterations from July onwards. Apple runs proprietary software, just like all its other products, on its Watch lineup. The term watchOS originated when CEO Tim Cook unveiled the very first Apple Watch back in 2015. Since then, the UI has received an iterative upgrade each year and this year’s version is watchOS 10.

As the name says, watchOS is obviously limited to Apple Watch products. In terms of availability, all increments from Apple Watch 4 onwards will get the update, and this includes the company’s most premium offering, Apple Watch Ultra. The update is currently in beta mode, but a stable version is likely to roll out sometime in July.

Smart Stack Widget
This new widget allows you to view information and stats from different apps in one window. Updates To Hiking Workouts:

Apple has added advanced metrics, views, and experiences for cyclists in watchOS 10. These include VO2 max, lactate threshold, and power zones. watchOS10 basically turns your iPhone into a highly specialised biking computer that you can mount on your handlebars. Tapping the bike workout on your Watch will relay a live activity notification to your phone, which in turn becomes a workout view. You will be able to see things like rotations per minute or your maximum cycling output in an hour, called FTP, apart from your standard calorie burns and distance-covered metrics.
