Elon Musk’s xAI will add a powerful new feature to its Grok AI. The company will launch a text-to-video generator in October 2025. Elon Musk confirmed the news himself.
This new tool will let you type a sentence, and Grok will create a video based on your words. The feature is called “Imagine” and will be powered by a new “Aurora” engine. It will even add sound to the videos it creates.
How To Get Grok AI Text-to-Video Feature?

The new video feature will be a premium tool. It will be available first to people who subscribe to “Super Grok,” which is a paid plan that costs $30 per month.
Users who want to try it can join a waitlist now through the Grok app. Early access will begin in October for those on the waitlist. The company plans to make it available to more users after the first rollout. This new tool joins Grok’s other features, like image generation and voice chat.

Comparison Of AI Video Tools
Grok is entering a very competitive market with this new feature. Its main rival is OpenAI (the maker of ChatGPT), which has its own famous video tool called Sora. Here is a simple comparison of how they stack up.
Feature | Grok | OpenAI’s Sora |
Public Launch | October 2025 (for subscribers) | Not yet public |
Includes Sound | Yes | No sound yet |
Cost | Part of a $30/month plan | Price not yet known |
Grok’s main advantage seems to be its planned public launch date and the inclusion of sound. This move puts xAI in direct competition with other major AI companies that are also working on video generation tools.
