The new model is for developers who need to create large volumes of AI-generated images quickly while keeping costs low. Alongside the launch, Google has also expanded access to Gemini Omni Flash. It is a multimodal AI model that helps users generate and edit videos using text, images, and videos.

The company says the model can generate an image from a text prompt in as little as four seconds, making it ideal for rapid creative workflows and high-volume projects.

Gemini Omni Flash Expands AI Video Creation

Along with the Nano Banana 2 Lite launch, Google has made Gemini Omni Flash available in public preview through Google AI Studio and the Gemini API.

The multimodal AI model allows developers to generate and edit videos using natural language prompts. Users can combine text, images, and video references to create AI-generated videos while maintaining consistency across multiple edits.

At present, Gemini Omni Flash supports videos of up to 10 seconds in length. Google has confirmed that longer video support, audio reference uploads, scene extension, and improved short video processing will be added in future updates.

The service is priced at $0.10 per second of generated video, matching the pricing of Veo 3.1 Fast.

Google says developers can first create AI images with Nano Banana 2 Lite and then use Gemini Omni Flash to turn those images into short videos. Both tools are now available through Google AI Studio, the Gemini API, Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, and are gradually rolling out to services including Search AI Mode, the Gemini app, NotebookLM, Google Photos, Google Flow, Stitch, and Google Ads.
