Samsung could be preparing one of its biggest visual changes yet for its One UI software. The latest OneUI 9.5 display leaks suggest that Samsung may introduce a much more noticeable glass-inspired design, with transparent elements, shiny edges and stronger depth effects across the interface.

The leaked screenshots offer an early look at Samsung's possible design direction. The changes appear more ambitious than the lighter glass effects currently seen in Samsung's software. However, One UI 9.5 remains unconfirmed, so the final design could look different when Samsung officially releases it.

The leaked visuals suggest Samsung is experimenting with a more transparent and layered interface. Several parts of the software could receive the new treatment, including widgets and floating interface elements.

Some of the reported changes include:

    • Shiny edges: Widgets and floating elements could get brighter, more reflective borders.
    • Transparent effects: Certain interface components may use a glass like appearance.
    • Background blur: Elements could blur the content behind them to create better separation.
    • More depth: Subtle shading could make menus and controls appear more layered.
    • Updated Phone app: The search icon could move to the floating navigation bar at the bottom.
    • App Lock: Samsung may introduce an App Lock feature requiring a password or biometric authentication.

The design could make One UI feel closer to Apple's Liquid Glass approach while still keeping Samsung's own visual identity. The change would also make everyday elements such as widgets and menus appear more dynamic.

One UI 9.5 Release Could Still Be Months Away

Samsung has not officially confirmed One UI 9.5 or the leaked design. The company is currently focused on One UI 9, which is reportedly being tested on the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. This means users should not expect One UI 9.5 to arrive soon.

Current reports suggest Samsung could release One UI 9.5 around April or May 2027. The company may also decide against running a public beta programme for the update.

For now, these OneUI 9.5 display leaks should be treated as early information. Samsung could change, remove or refine several of these visual effects before the final software reaches Galaxy devices. If the leaked design remains intact, One UI 9.5 could give Samsung phones a significantly more modern and glass focused appearance.
