OnePlus has finally launched its first foldable phone in India called the OnePlus Open. It is the most expensive phone from the company, with a price tag of more than Rs.1 lakh. OnePlus has partnered with Oppo to create the device, and it is similar to the Oppo Find N3 released earlier today.

The OnePlus Open features a 7.82-inch flexi-fluid AMOLED inner screen with a Ceramic Guard. On the outside, there is a 6.31-inch Super Fluid AMOLED cover display. Both DualProXDR displays have a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,800 nits.

In addition, these screens have LTPO 3 and Dolby Vision support with UTG Glass for protection. The company claims it is 20 per cent stronger than Gorilla Glass Victus. The inner screen has UTG glass for protection. These 10-bit panels also support High-frequency PWM dimming at 1440Hz.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor powers the phone paired with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It runs on Oxygen OS 13.2 based on Android 13 and has 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. OnePlus promises four years of Android updates and five security updates for the device.

The OnePlus Open has a new multitasking feature called OnePlus Canvas and an app dock feature similar to the OnePlus Pad. Furthermore, the company claims 95 per cent of the apps have been optimized for the inner screen. It can handle up to three windows on the screen for multitasking. You can edit two documents simultaneously in Office 365 or open two photos side by side in the gallery.

For selfies, you get a 20-megapixel camera on the inner screen and a 32-megapixel sensor on the outer screen. The rear camera can shoot up to 4K at 60 FPS, while the front camera can record videos at 4K 30 FPS.

It is the first OnePlus phone to sport a 48-megapixel Sony LYTIA-T808 sensor with a f/1.7 aperture and a 1/1.43-inch sensor. In addition, there is a 48-megapixel IMX581 ultra-wide lens with an f/2.2 aperture and a 1/2-inch sensor. You also get a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom support. All three cameras have Hasselblad branding with OIS support.

The phone packs a 4,805mAh battery with 80W fast charging globally and 67W in the European Union. For connectivity, it has Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3, while you also get features like an IPX4 rating and X-Axis Haptic Motor. You also have three speakers (2 at the top and 1 at the bottom), an X-axis haptic motor and an Alert Slider similar to other OnePlus phones.

The OnePlus Open has launched in India for a price of Rs.1,39,999. The pre-orders for the phone start on October 19, and it goes on sale starting October 27. The company is offering a Rs.5,000 instant discount on ICICI and OneCard. You also get a Rs.8,000 trade-in bonus on selected devices and benefits worth Rs.15,000 on JioPlus apart from 12-month interest-free EMI options.

It will be available in two colours: Emerald Dusk, weighing 245 grams and Voyager Black, weighing 239 grams. The phone will compete against the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, which costs Rs.1,54,999
