OPPO has started rolling out the stable OPPO Find X8 ColorOS 17 update in India. The update is based on Android 17 and brings a new look, faster animations and a few new AI features. OPPO announced the rollout on 30 October 2026. Besides India, it’s going out in Indonesia and Malaysia.
OPPO Find X8 ColorOS 17 Update: Who Gets It First
The update is coming in phases, so not every Find X8 user will see it on the same day. To be eligible, your phone must already be on software version CPH2651_16.0.10.500(EX01). If you’re on an older build, install the pending updates first.
OPPO hasn’t shared the download size or the security patch level yet. Other regions should follow, but there’s no date for them so far.
The Find X8 launched in India in November 2024 with ColorOS 15, so this is its second big Android upgrade.

ColorOS 17 Features Coming To The Find X8
Here are the main changes OPPO has announced for ColorOS 17. Some of these may vary by region or device.
- Fluid Design: a fresh, see-through, glass-like look across the system, with smoother animations.
- Floating navigation bar: a pill-shaped bar that now shows up in more of the built-in apps.
- Aurora Engine: handles rendering and animations, so scrolling and app opening should feel smoother.
- Tidal Engine: manages background apps and resources, which OPPO says helps with speed and battery life.
- AI tools: an AI portrait fill light in photo editing, AI help in Notes, and AI-made themes.
- Live call translation: translates calls in real time.
- AI Call Anti-Fraud: warns you about calls that look like scams.

How To Check For The Update
- Open Settings.
- Go to Software update. On some builds, this is under System & update.
- Tap Check for updates, then download and install.
Some early users are getting the build through OPPO’s release candidate programme, under Settings > System & update > Beta program. If the update isn’t showing yet, wait a few days, because the rollout is still in progress.
Before you update, back up your photos and chats. Keep at least 50% battery and connect to Wi-Fi, since major updates are usually a few GB in size.
