    The latest leak claims the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will pack two prime CPU cores. They will be clocked at 4.61GHz alongside six performance cores running at 3.63GHz. For graphics, Qualcomm is said to be equipping it with the Adreno 840 GPU, tuned to 1.2GHz.

    The leak also points to some eye-catching benchmark results, with the chip reportedly crossing the 4 million mark on AnTuTu version 11.

    Qualcomm will introduce the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 during its annual Snapdragon Summit on September 23. Just a day earlier, MediaTek will launch the Dimensity 9500, setting up a head-to-head showdown for attention.

    The first smartphones powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 are expected to come from Xiaomi, Honor, iQOO, OnePlus, and Realme. Early models will likely stick to the standard 4.61GHz version of the chip, while a higher-clocked Samsung variant is rumored to arrive in later devices.
