WhatsApp users will now be able to move or transfer their chat history from iOS to Android devices. Until a few months back, only Samsung devices had this feature specifically the Galaxy smartphones. However, in a recent development, the WhatsApp chat migration feature is now available for all Google Pixel smartphones. Moreover, they have also confirmed that the feature will become available on all new smartphones that launch with Android 12.

WhatsApp Chat Transfer Feature From iOS to Android Arrives on Pixel Phones
This WhatsApp chat migration feature will make the experience of switching from iOS to Android easier. Simply because you won’t have to give up your messaging history. Only things to note are: one should have their WhatsApp up to date on both your iPhone and Android phone. Plus, you should have a USB-C to Lightning cable. Google says that while setting up your Android phone, you will be prompted to scan a QR code with your iPhone. This will let you start the transfer process.

Google in its blog post mentions that more Android devices are getting the new WhatsApp chat migration functionality. It also mentions that if the iPhone has trouble scanning the QR code, users would need to open WhatsApp and head to Settings > Chats > Move Chats to Android. In addition, Google said that the user would not receive any new messages while the chats are being transferred.

In separate news from WhatsApp chat migration feature, WhatsApp features tracker WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp Business accounts will soon be getting a message rating feature. All users will be able to give feedback to businesses by rating their messages. It ranges from one star to five stars with five being the maximum. However, the tracker notes that there is no option to give direct feedback to WhatsApp Business accounts as of now.
