Vivo has officially confirmed the Vivo S50 launch in China on December 15 at 7 PM (local time). The company has been teasing the series for several days, and the announcement has now revealed important details about the upcoming smartphones. The lineup includes the Vivo S50 and the Vivo S50 Pro Mini, both expected to strengthen Vivo’s position in the premium mid-range segment.
Vivo S50 Launch : Models & Storage Variants
The Vivo S50 launch will introduce the standard S50 with four storage variants: 12GB/256GB, 16GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB and 16GB/512GB. The Vivo S50 Pro Mini will come in three options, including 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB and 16GB/512GB. This wide range of choices shows Vivo’s focus on performance-oriented users who prefer larger RAM and storage combinations.
The series will debut in four colour options — Confession White, Inspiration Purple, Gentle Blue and Space Black. The Gentle Blue shade is exclusive to the standard S50. While the Pro Mini will be offered in White, Purple and Black. Both phones feature an aerospace-grade aluminium frame and a new satin lithography finish, giving them a refined and premium design.

Confirmed Features And Early Specifications
Ahead of the Vivo S50 launch, the brand has revealed several major features. Both models will carry the 2nd-generation 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and come with IP69 + IP68 water resistance, offering high durability and protection.
The Vivo S50 Pro Mini is the model with more confirmed details. It will feature a 6.31-inch display and run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Vivo says the device has crossed 3 million on the AnTuTu benchmark. The camera setup includes a VCS ultra-sensitive main sensor, a Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens and a 50MP front camera. It will be powered by a 6500mAh battery with 90W wired and 40W wireless charging.
Listings on Geekbench and 3C have revealed that the standard Vivo S50 will use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, run Android 16 and support 90W fast charging, along with options of up to 16GB RAM.
