Sony Xperia 5 III

Sony’s flagship phone lineup for the year has been unveiled, with an emphasis on bringing new camera technology to the smartphone industry.  The three phones announced by Sony are Xperia 1 III, Xperia 5 III, and Xperia 10 III, which will be available in selected markets this summer. Among these three devices, Sony Xperia 5 III belongs to the mid-range category and comes powered by a 5G chipset and brings the ZEISS technology cameras along with multiple other features. So, let’s take a look at the specs before Sony Xperia 5 III hits the Indian Smartphone Market. 

Sony Xperia 5 III Price in India 

Sony Xperia 5 III is intended to serve the budget-range section and comes in two variants. This base variant features 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage and the higher variant comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. As for the colour, you can buy the Sony Xperia 5 III in two colour options including Black and Green. The Russian Sony Xperia 5 III price starts from 930 Euros. However, the Sony Xperia 5 III is not available in India yet and it is expected to be priced at Rs. 49,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant. The actual pricing will be updated once the Sony Xperia 5 III hits the Indian Smartphone market.  

Sony Xperia 5 III measures 0.3-inch in thickness and weighs around 2.4oz. As for the durability, there is (IPX5/IPX8) water resistance and (IP6X) dust proofing. Not only this, there is Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection as well. 

For biometric authentication, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor located on the right edge over the power button. On the top, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack, while the bottom side features the Type-C charging port.

The front side comes with negligible bezels around the edges, while the top and bottom side feature small bezels with the top one carrying the selfie camera in it. So there is no notch. On the rear, Sony Xperia 5 III looks attractive with a pill-shaped camera module and the Sony logo engraved in the middle. 

Sony Xperia 5 III boasts a large 6.1-inch Cinema-Wide display, offering a resolution of 2520 by 1080 pixels. The FHD+ HDR OLED panel comes with a high 120Hz refresh rate along with 240Hz of motion blur reduction and 240Hz of touch sampling rate, making it the smoothest display ever. Sony Xperia 5 III display features an aspect ratio of 21:9 for offering a large viewing area and supports multiple other features like DCI-P3 100%, 10 but tonal gradation etc. 

There is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset tickling inside along with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, which can be extended up to 1TB via microSD card.  To the surprise of gamers, Sony Xperia 5 III features PS4 Remote Play22, DUALSHOCK®4 Control compatibility23 and Game Enhancer. 

As for the connectivity, Sony Xperia 5 III is a 5G enabled device and runs on Android 11 when it comes to the operating system. The audio system used in this handset is overwhelming as well with Dolby Atmos Full Stage Stereo Speakers.

Sony Xperia 5 III comes with a beautiful set of cameras. On the Rear, there is a triple camera setup with a 12MP primary lens featuring an aperture of f/1.7 and an 82-degree field of view. The primary sensor is followed by another 12MP sensor with an aperture of f/2.3 along with one more 12MP lens with an aperture of f/2.2. 

The rear camera features include Photography Pro, ZEISS quality lenses calibrated specifically for Xperia 5 III, Real-Time Tracking, RGB-IR, AI Super-resolution zoom etc. Also, the rear camera supports 4K HDR Movie recording. 

On the front, Sony Xperia 5 III is mounted with an 8MP camera setup, featuring an aperture of f/2.0 and a 78-degree field of view. The front camera supports HDR, Steady Shot, Portrait selfie, Display Flash and Hand Gesture. 

Sony Xperia 5 III features a 4500 mAh battery under the hood for ensuring full day power backup. For refilling the battery, the smartphone is provided with USB PD fast charging, comes with some of the additional features like Xperia Adaptive Charging, Battery Care, STAMINA Mode. Also, you are being provided with a Type-C charging port for connecting the charger.
