TCL 505 was announced on 6 February 2024 and was released in March 2024 globally. As per the speculations, the phone could make it to our shores as well because India is a thriving market for budget-segment phones and would provide the TCL brand with an opportunity to make a lasting impression on customers. TCL 505 Design 

TCL 505 is a device with dimensions of (168.3 X 76.7 X 8.3 )mm. The weight of the phone is 190 g. This phone has a screen with a punch-hole design, accommodating its camera at the front, and the phone gets a plastic back with dual cameras accommodated vertically in the top left corner of the back. The power button and the volume rockers are accommodated on the right edge of the device, while on the left edge of the device, you get a removable SIM tray with a dedicated SD card slot. The power button of this device also acts as a fingerprint sensor. The phone is available in two colours namely ocean blue and space grey.

TCL 505 gets a 6.75 IPS liquid crystal display with 16 million colours. The resolution of this screen is 720 x 1600 pixels with an aspect ratio of 20:9. TCL 505  gets a 90 Hz refresh rate screen along with a peak brightness of 400 nits. Considering its price range, the device gets a decent 260 PPI pixel density which makes the display sharp. TCL 505 borrows its processing power from MediaTek Helio G36 (12 nm) chipset which does the job decently for this segment. The phone gets an octa-core CPU with PowerVR GE8320 GPU which lends this device the ability to handle graphic-intensive tasks moderately. TCL 505 runs on an Android 14 operating system which enables the phone to have the latest software. The processor of this device is paired with 4 GB RAM along with an option of either 64 GB or 128 GB internal storage. To increase internal storage TCL 505 comes with a provision of a dedicated card slot for microSD.

TCL 505 gets a dual camera set up at the back with a 50 megapixel, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), 1/2.55″, 0.7µm main camera along with a 2 megapixel, f/ 2.4 depth camera with main camera being capable of the recording videos as well. On the front, the duty is performed by a 5 MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture. TCL 505 acquires an LED flashlight at the back so that nothing stops from capturing photos at night as well.
