Apple fails to provide a good battery and a mere 16GB storage in this day lowers the standards. However, performance-wise, Apple iPhone 6S remains the master phone you could go for. Plus, the defining 3D touch that the phone arrives with makes it a worthy model to check out to please your flagship desires.
Released by the innovation giant, Apple iPhone 6S has sent the buzz of anticipation through the smartphone market. Starting from INR 24,999, the iPhone 6S is setting the benchmark with its innovative 3D touch and smooth Live Photo technology. If you want an immersive connection with your phone, iPhone 6S promises to be a leader at an economic range. Apple iPhone 6S Price in India
Apple iPhone 6S, one of the best and the highest iPhones by the sales, was launched back in 2015 at a flagship-level price of around Rs.64,000. A few years down the line, the iPhone 6S price in India got a major cut when new models were launched. Now, you can buy an iPhone 6S for as low as Rs.24,999 for the 32GB storage variant which is the only option available. It has now become pretty affordable and can be bought by those who used to crave for iPhones in India.
The iPhone 6S looks almost similar to the iPhone 6, but there are slight differences – it has added a bit of thickness to the frame, and it is a bit heavier. The metallic chassis fits well in hand and is quite ergonomic despite the added weight. One of the significant points of iPhone 6S is that it is built with the Aluminium 7000 series making it a durable model which, according to Apple, will keep the phone dent-free even after several falls. Plus, it does not lose out on the ceramic feel that the phone offers. The screen is stronger as well since it is fitted with a glass that is much less prone to scratches.
iPhone 6S comes with a 4.7-inch screen with a resolution of 750p. Despite coming with the Retina Display, the resolution of the phone is lacking since cheaper phones have gone for the 1080p display. However, the display of iPhone is still bright and colorful. The phone does fall short when compared with rival models. The contrast ratio is poor as the blacks appear a bit greyish. It comes with a 326 pixels per inch display, which is lower than the 401ppi of iPhone 6S Plus, and the 500ppi of other flagships. However, due to the lower pixels, the battery consumption of the phone is lesser which makes it power efficient. However, the display is not the selling point of Apple 6S.
As per the Apple tradition, the iPhone 6S comes with an engine upgrade. Introducing the powerful A9 processor, it has taken the lead among its competing flagship phones, easily beating Galaxy S6, with a promised 70% faster CPU performance and a whopping 90% faster graphics. Apple isn’t kidding. Benchmark tests put iPhone 6 at 2,541 versus S6’s 1,504 on single core tests, but S6 sailed past on multicore tests by a small margin – 5,283 against iPhone’s 4,405.
However, iPhone makes it up with an impressive graphics performance capping at 26,070 beating S6’s 21,193, LG G4’s 18,510 and HTC One M9’s 22,804. Plus, the A9 processor comes with the advanced M9 coprocessor which allows the phone to record more motion, without straining on the battery.
Apple has amped up its back camera from 8MP to 12MP and front camera from 1.2MP to 5MP.
The eye-catching addition is the Live Photo feature. While it is not an innovation as HTC and Samsung Galaxy S4 had integrated it within their sets way back, Apple, as usual, does make the experience seamless. The Live Photo takes a 1.5-second picture before and after the snap, creating a chain of memories to preserve. Add 3D touch, and you get an immersive ‘looking back’ at the memories while browsing through the gallery. Also, it includes sound.
This feature, while significant, may seem a bit gimmicky for professional photographers looking to click still photographs. All the pictures you click will be Live Photo by default. You can turn it off manually. A live photo takes the space of two images, which is an ill fit for the low storage capacity that iPhone 6S has.
However, an advanced CPU is not coupled with the expected battery life. In the current market, the 1715 mAh battery is less compared to the 2550 mAh of S6. Playing a FullHD video at full brightness for 90 minutes resulted in a drop down to 70% power from full. It struggles to last a whole day, making it to about 6 hours and 46 minutes after continuous web-surfing. The Low Power mode of iOS 9 can keep the juice for an extra hour.
The Apple iPhone 6S comes as a surprise and a pleasure. It has poor battery life, and the Live Photo feature might not be appreciated by still photographers. The RAM and storage capacity is not at par with competing flagships. You can bank on an immersive iPhone experience with 3D Touch and an intelligent Siri. Paired with a powerful processor, iPhone 6S is for the people looking for the refined finish of Apple’s software and the innovative brilliance.
