In-flight Connectivity Packs Announced By Jio

Jio mentioned in-flight connectivity support at the time of launching its Postpaid Plus plans recently.

In-flight connectivity is a reality now with Jio announcing its three new plans. Moreover, it will offer high-speed data access as well as voice calling and SMS message benefits for inflight communications. Jio partnered with AeroMobile, a subsidiary of Panasonic Avionics Corporation, to make this experience possible. 

There are three distinct in-flight connectivity packs in the new plan. It is applicable only to 22 partner airlines. It is applicable for both postpaid and prepaid users of Jio.

In addition, Jio has revised the Rs.1,101 and Rs.1,201 international roaming packs and introduced the Rs.1,102 and Rs.1,202 international roaming value packs with Wi-Fi calling support. It comes along with the announcement of the In-flight plan by Jio.

Recharge Plans for In-flight Connectivity by Jio

The connectivity packs by Jio are Rs. 499, Rs. 699, and Rs. 999. They all are having only one-day validity.

Here, Rs 499 Jio In-flight connectivity pack offers 250MB data, 100-minute voice calls, and 100 SMS.

The Rs 699 Jio plan costs Rs 699 and offers 500MB data, 100-minute calls, and 100 SMS.

Lastly, there’s a Rs 999 Jio In-flight plan that brings 1GB data, same 100-minute calls, and 100 SMS.

However, users will be charged for two days if the connecting flight is equipped with a different aircraft roaming network. Jio does not allow incoming calls on the in-flight connectivity packs. Although, incoming SMS messages are allowed and are free.

The list of partner airlines for the Jio in-flight connectivity packs include Aer Lingus, Cathay Pacific, Egypt Air, EVA Air, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, TAP Air Portugal, and Turkish Airlines that offer data and SMS message access on their flights. However, Air Serbia, Alitalia, Asiana Airlines, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Euro wings, Kuwait Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Malindo Air, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, SWISS, Uzbekistan Airways, and Virgin Atlantic that are providing support for all bundled services of the in-flight connectivity packs.

Furthermore, they are prepaid packs but are also available to postpaid users on a pre-on-post basis.
