Apple Watch Series 7‌ will feature a new design with a flat-edged look that’s similar to the flat edges used for the iPhone 12 and iPad Pro. According to Kuo, the new Apple Watch had to go through more production processes than previous models. This is mainly due to the “dramatic” change in the design.

The production issue of the Apple Watch Series 7 is mainly related to the panel side. However, it is now not a problem, and mass production of panel modules will start in mid-September.

This kind of issue is kind of expected with its aim to bring an iPhone 12-esque look for the Apple Watch Series 7 with flat sides and squared-off edges. However, Kuo says Apple and its suppliers have now overcome those issues. He also mentions the mass production will be beginning soon. Moreover, the size of the displays may increase noticeably. The surrounding screen bezel will be reduced compared to current models. Bloomberg previously reported that the 45mm Apple Watch Series 7 will sport 16 per cent more pixels than the current 44mm model it replaces. Kuo also notes that the first batches of Series 7 watches were afflicted by the blinking panel and touch screen sensitivity problems. However, the analyst believes Apple and its suppliers have recently resolved the panel module issues. They are now ready for imminent mass production, with mass shipments coming later in the month.
