The launch of the Asus 8z in India is happening on February 28, 2022. Except for the information regarding the debut, Asus hasn’t shared much information on the device thus far. The Taiwanese business introduced the Asus ZenFone 8 and Asus ZenFone 8 Flip smartphones in the worldwide market last year.
Both Asus Zenfone 8 and Asus Zenfone 8 Flip smartphones are likely to debut in the Indian market as Asus 8z and Asus 8z Flip devices. Because a different firm from Asus controls the Zen and ZenMobile trademarks in India, it will not launch the ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip in India under the same moniker. Hence, there will be a slight change in the moniker.

According to a tweet from Asus, it will introduce the Asus 8z smartphone (or smartphones). The launch will take place during an event on February 28 at 12 p.m. (noon). It is assumed that the phone would be “Big on Performance, Compact in Size”. Implying that only one device will be available for purchase. Aside from that, Asus has hinted that the phone is sweat-resistant, suggesting its high IP rating. Unfortunately, the Asus 8z will only be available for sale via Flipkart.
Even though Asus had hinted at introducing its new smartphones in India last year, the firm ultimately chose not to do so. As a result, it was there that the phones launched as the Asus ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip would rebrand as the Asus 8z and Asus 8z Flip when they made their appearance in India.
Asus 8z and Asus 8z Flip Specifications (Expected)
It was a hint in a teaser earlier this year that both the global and Indian editions of the Asus ZenFone 8 series were likely to have the same features. Therefore, these phones are launching in India as part of the Asus 8z series. They are likely to feature specs comparable to those of the Asus 8 series but with significant enhancements. However, since the corporation has not provided any clarification on this, it is just a wild guess at this point.
Both the Asus ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip smartphones come pre-installed with Android 11. They have ZenUI 8 on top of the operating system. When it comes to displays, the vanilla model has a 5.9-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) Samsung AMOLED display running at 120Hz.
Whereas, the Asus 8z Flip has a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) Samsung AMOLED display running at 90Hz. These smartphones are powering on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoCs. It can combine with up to 8GB of RAM on the Flip model and up to 16GB of RAM on the standard model. In addition, the UFS 3.1 storage on the two phones may expand up to a total of 256GB.
The Asus ZenFone 8 has a dual-rear camera arrangement with a primary sensor of 64 megapixels and a secondary sensor of 12 megapixels. This allows for excellent photography. In addition, it has a front-facing camera with a resolution of 12 MP. While the ZenFone 8 Flip lacks a stepper motor, it does contain an angle sensor.
It allows it to provide more exact results. The camera’s features are a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a secondary sensor with 12-megapixel, and an 8-megapixel long-exposure lens with 3x optical zoom. The revolving camera may also use as a selfie camera by rotating it.
The ZenFone 8 has a battery capacity of 4,000mAh, whereas the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip has a battery capacity of 5,000mAh. Both devices comply with the Quick Charge 4.0 and Power Delivery specifications.
