The HarmonyOS 7 update has officially arrived as Huawei unveiled its latest operating system during the Huawei Developer Conference (HDC) 2026. The company has started rolling out the first developer beta. Thus, giving selected users and app developers early access to the new software and its AI-powered features.
Huawei says the beta program is currently available for seven flagship devices, with only 15,000 slots open in the initial phase. More compatible models are expected to join the beta program in the coming months, while the stable version is scheduled to launch alongside the Huawei Mate 90 series in fall 2026.
HarmonyOS 7 Update: Eligible Devices And Beta Details
The first developer beta is based on API 26 and is designed to help developers test applications and explore the latest platform capabilities.

Eligible devices include:
- Huawei Mate 80 Pro
- Huawei Mate X7
- Huawei Mate XTs Master
- Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max
- Huawei Pura X
- Huawei Pura X Collector’s Edition
- Huawei Nova 15 Pro
Huawei has confirmed that additional devices will receive access in future beta phases. Once the software achieves the required stability, the company plans to launch a public beta before releasing the final version later this year.
HarmonyOS 7 Brings Agentic AI And Smarter Personalisation
One of the biggest highlights of the HarmonyOS 7 update is its stronger focus on Agentic AI. The upgraded AI Assistant now offers deeper system integration, allowing it to perform more in-app commands and complete tasks with improved efficiency.
