After taking over the realm of PC gaming for years on end, Call of Duty finally arrived to mobile back in 2019. With Call of Duty Mobile downloads and player base going through the roof, Activision is working on another mobile game based off of CoD. The game maker has recently formed their Solid State studio which will work alongside Beenox and Activision Shanghai to develop the new AAA Call of Duty mobile game.
Now, to further boost their mobile gaming division, Activision has acquired the Digital Legends studio. Digital Legends recently released a notice which talks about the acquisition. Looks like Activision is indeed going all in on a new Call of Duty mobile game. Digital Legends have worked on several successful mobile games like Afterpulse and Respawnables.
New Call of Duty Mobile Game: What More?
Earlier this year itself we got to know that Activision is planning on releasing another Call of Duty mobile game. Moreover, we also got to come across a job listing on Activision’s Career page, which could only suggest them starting to hire for the new division. Besides, the company forming a new internal studio called Solid State is a strong hint for the same.
Rob Kostich, President at Activision, stated that, “This is an incredible team of development pros at Digital Legends, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome them to the Activision team .” He further says that, “This is a great step forward as we continue to build additional world-class development resources focused on creating exciting and innovative content for our players.”
This is great news for Call of Duty Mobile fans as they will have another game to try and be a part of. We are definitely excited to see whether the game will follow the usual multiplayer format or go for something different. Moreover, upon release, it will be competing with a bunch of much anticipated titles that are on their way to official release. These include Apex Legends Mobile, PUBG New State, Battlefield Mobile and more.
