Redmi Note 12 Turbo Could Launch As POCO X5 GT Globally: Report

Last year in October, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 series in China. The series included the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12, Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, and Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G models. However, according to a recent report, the brand is now all set to launch another special edition handset to the lineup which will go official as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo. The handset was also spotted on China Compulsory Certification (3C), and IMEI certification website databases.

The listing also suggests that the handset may launch globally under another name. As per the findings by the Xiaomiui report, the smartphone may launch as the POCO X5 GT in the global markets. Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo: Specifications (Expected)

The handset may come with a 6.67-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 chipset along with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. According to a previous report, the smartphone will feature a triple rear camera unit. Led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor, along with an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 2-megapixel tertiary sensor. Moreover, it will also offer a 5,500mAh battery and 67W wired fast charging support.

The handset was also spotted on the IMEI database with a different name- which is the POCO X5 GT. The report further suggests that the smartphone could launch outside China under this moniker. It will run on Android 13-based MIUI 14. Moreover, the handset may arrive in three variants. Reportedly, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo China variant bears the model number 23049RAD8C, while the global POCO X5 GT variant sports the model number 23049PCD8G, and the Indian variant POCO X5 GT has the model number 23049PCD8I. However, the company is yet to confirm the information regarding the upcoming handset.
