Spotify Technology announced on Tuesday that it has launched a new hub, Netflix Hub; where fans can listen to all of the official soundtracks, playlists, and podcasts for the Netflix series. The hub will also include Netflix-related podcasts such as Okay, Netflix Is A Daily Joke, and The Crown: The Official Podcast, according to a blog post by the Swedish company.
Spotify Rolls Out Netflix Hub
The dedicated hub will serve as a one-stop-shop for all the Netflix-related content, including exclusive Spotify content. Official soundtracks for Netflix episodes and movies, such as the popular new show ‘Squid Game’ and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s feature film ‘Tick, Tick… Boom!,’ are available, as well as official playlists featuring all licenced songs included in shows like ‘Money Heist’ and ‘Bridgerton.’
Netflix’s new dedicated hub is comparable to Spotify’s previous Disney-themed hub. It, too, contains Disney-related music, playlists, and podcasts. It’s a lot busier than Netflix’s hub, which is rather sparse due to the fact that just a small quantity of content has been added so far in this.
The pandemic has benefited Spotify, which experienced an increase in premium members in the third quarter; as individuals turned to its music platform to stay entertained. However, in the face of increasing competition from Apple Music and Amazon Music; Spotify is considering adding new features in order to attract more users. It also collaborated with Disney to launch the Disney Hub earlier this year.
Free and Premium subscribers in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and India will have access to the Netflix hub.
