All of this has started with one person/podcaster famous on the platform. But why did both the podcaster in question and the streaming giant face the music? The platforms new advice will connect listeners to a dedicated Covid-19 Hub. It will provide easy access to data-driven facts and up-to-date information. This information will be shared by scientists, physicians, academics, and public health authorities worldwide. Additionally, it will provide connections to reputable sources. Spotify will begin rolling out this feature in the coming days to nations worldwide.

He further emphasises that Spotify does not seek to ban such material “while also ensuring that rules are in place and that those who violate them face the consequences. He continues by stating that the corporation has not been “transparent about the policies that govern our content more broadly. Which has raised concerns about significant problems such as Covid-19. Spotify is disclosing its long-standing Platform Rules. Now will be public which have not previously, as part of the current discussion.

“These rules were created in collaboration with various external experts and are updated regularly to reflect the ever-changing safety context. These are ground standards for all of our artists, from those with whom we work solely. And to those with whom we collaborate on numerous platforms,” Ek said.
