Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus revealed that the company will unveil its next-gen flagship series, the OnePlus 8 series, around the world in an online launch event on April 14, 2020. We expect OnePlus 8 price in India to be revealed at this launch event.
The news came out through the company’s official tweet which shared an official teaser for the upcoming OnePlus 8 series carrying the tagline ‘Lead with Speed’. Along with three new smartphones, the company can also announce a pair of true-wireless earbuds at the launch event. Although there are two long weeks to go before the launch, we are pretty much aware of almost all the specifications that the series might boast.

OnePlus Founder and CEO, Pete Lau said that it will be a milestone both for OnePlus and its users and the company is proud to be one of the first smartphone manufacturers to introduce a full 5G line up. He also added that with the OnePlus 8 series, the company aims to introduce their most powerful and beautiful smartphone series which offers blazing-fast 5G capabilities along with high refresh rate displays and OnePlus’ signature powerful performance setup.
This statement confirms the presence of a new 120Hz display on the OnePlus 8 series which will be a bump from the current 90Hz refresh panels seen on the OnePlus 7T series.
As for the specifications of regular OnePlus 8, leaks suggest that Snapdragon 865 chipset clubbed with 6 RAM alongside 128 GB storage and 6.5-inch FHD+ display could be seen. The device will possibly boast a triple camera setup with a 48 MP primary shooter alongside a 12 MP and 2 MP secondary cameras. The Pro variant is hinted to have a quad camera setup and a 6.78″ Super Fluid Curved 120hz Display with more accurate colours than before. OnePlus is also expected to launch a “Lite” version of its OnePlus 8 series which is touted to be called the “OnePlus Z” and will focussed to compete in the budget to mid-range segment.
