Although there is ‘Dare to Leap’ branding in every smartphone belonging to the Realme 8 Series, this time the branding has been removed and Realme 8 5G comes with a simplistic design, which appears quite attractive. The best thing about the design is that Realme 8 5G features flat edges for making the in-hand feel good and ensuring a better grip.
The rear panel is made of plastic, but still, it will attract fingerprints, so you must use the back cover provided with the package. The overall weight is 187 grams and the thickness is just 8.5 mm, which makes Realme 8 5G the lightest and the thinnest smartphone, although there is a huge 5000 mAh battery inside.
Speaking of the fingerprint sensor, it comes integrated with the power button on the right edge, while the volume rocker and the SIM tray are there on the left side of the smartphone. The bottom side features the Type-C charging port along with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a bottom-firing speaker grille.
The only thing that is missing here is the Gorilla Glass protection along with dust and waterproofing.
Realme 8 5G comes equipped with a large 6.5-inch 90Hz ultra-smooth display with FHD+ resolution and a screen to body ratio of 90.5% for ensuring vivid visuals and a large viewing area. On the software front, Realme 8 5G runs on Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11, which comes with some pre-installed apps that can be uninstalled later. The camera department is not a big highlight of the Realme 8 5G. There is a 48MP NightScape camera with three lenses on the rear side. The combination includes a 48MP main sensor, a B&W Portrait lens and another 4cm Macro lens. It is particularly meant for enhancing the night photography experience. On the front, the Realme 8 5G features a 16MP AI Beauty Selfie camera to help you record yourself clearly.
