5G has become a normal thing to have in 2020. Nearly all the big smartphone companies have launched or announced their 5G phones. And now Nokia has also dipped its toes in the 5G market.

According to the leaks provided by NokiaMobileUser, Nokia has started working on its affordable 5G phone which houses a Mediatek Dimensity 800 series processor. Earlier speculations were that Nokia 7.3 will be the one housing the Mediatek chipset but according to the recent leaks, Nokia 7.3 may include a snapdragon SoC with two variants in which one is 5G compatible and the other is not.

If so, Nokia will launch 3 5G ready smartphones till Q1 2021. The affordable Nokia 5G phone is most likely to be launched in Q4 2020 or Q1 2021, while the Snapdragon version is speculated to be launched much earlier. The 5G smartphone launches from HMD global shows its aggressiveness to dominate the smartphone market when 5G becomes common.

Other two smartphones in the list of upcoming 5G phones from Nokia also include the Nokia 6.3, which is expected to launch alongside the Nokia 7.3. The list also includes a device from Nokia’s flagship ‘Nokia 9 series’, i.e. the Nokia 9.3 PureView, expected to launch later this year.

This Nokia 6.3 is touted to house Snapdragon 730 SoC under the hood and feature the PureDisplay technology. We are expecting a quad-camera setup at the back with   24MP primary sensor sitting beside a combination of a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP depth sensor and a macro lens. There would also be a 16MP selfie camera. Reports claim the Nokia 6.3 price for the 3GB + 64GB base variant would be EUR 249 (approx Rs 20,500).

The Nokia 7.3 on the other hand would get a chipset from Snapdragon 700-series coupled with 5G support as well. The device would also boast a gorgeous 6.3-inch with Full HD+ display with the company’s signature PureView display technology and a punch-hole cut out. There could be a non-5G variant as well as the brand is testing two prototypes.
