Sony Xperia 1 III

The New Sony Xperia 1 III was announced by the company during a live stream alongside two other smartphones, Xperia 5 III and Xperia 10 III. This handset’s name might be a little misleading, but it’s Sony’s new flagship smartphone, following the Xperia 1 and Xperia 1 II, which were the company’s most recent top Android phones. Sony Xperia 1 III isn’t a significant upgrade over its predecessor, but it does add a few new features that you might find appealing while shopping for a smartphone. 

Sony Xperia 1 III Price in India 

The latest flagship device from Sony is launched by the company in two variants, one with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage and another with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. The extensive range of colours options includes Frosty Black, Frosty Purple and Frosty Green. The actual pricing for the Indian smartphone market hasn’t been revealed yet, but it is believed that Sony Xperia 1 III price is going to start from Rs.64,999 and the sale will start in the upcoming months. 

Sony Xperia 1 III measures 0.3-inch in thickness and weighs around 6.6oz. As for the durability, there is (IPX5/IPX8) water resistance and (IP6X) dust proofing. Not only this, the display is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and on the rear, there is Corning Gorilla Glass 6. 

The overall design hasn’t changed much at all from last year’s Xperia 1 II. The third version is once again a smooth shiny 6.5-inch device standing tall and slender, thanks to Sony’s 21:9 design. For biometric authentication, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor located on the right edge over the power button. On the top, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack, while the bottom side features the Type-C charging port.

Sony Xperia 1 III features a large 6.5-inch Cinema-Wide display, offering a resolution of 3840 by 1644 pixels. The 4K HDR OLED panel comes with a high 120Hz refresh rate along with 240Hz of motion blur reduction and 240Hz of touch sampling rate, making it the smoothest display ever. Sony Xperia 1 III display features an aspect ratio of 21:9 for offering a large viewing area and supports multiple other features like DCI-P3 100%, 10 but tonal gradation etc. To summarise, this is one of the best smartphone displays available.

Sony has gone with the latest Qualcomm snapdragon 888 5G chipset this time, which is quite a great move as compared to its previous year smartphones. Further, Sony Xperia 1 III boasts 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage for seamless performance, which can be extended up to 1TB via an external SD card. For gamers, Sony Xperia 1 III brings multiple features like PS4 Remote Play, DUAL SHOCK 4 control compatibility, Game enhancer etc. 

The audio system used in this handset is overwhelming as well with Dolby Atmos Full Stage Stereo Speakers. As for the software, the Sony Xperia 1 III runs on Android 11.

On the front, Sony Xperia 1 III is mounted with an 8MP camera setup, featuring an aperture of f/2.0 and a 78-degree field of view. The front camera supports HDR, Steady Shot, Portrait selfie, Display Flash and Hand Gesture. 

On the Rear, there is a triple camera setup with a 12MP primary lens featuring an aperture of f/1.7 and an 82-degree field of view. The primary sensor is followed by another 12MP sensor with an aperture of f/2.3 along with one more 12MP lens with an aperture of f/2.2. 

The rear camera features include Photography Pro, ZEISS quality lenses calibrated specifically for Xperia 1 III, Real-Time Tracking, RGB-IR, AI Super-resolution zoom etc. Also, the rear camera supports 4K HDR Movie recording. 

There is a 4500 mAh decent battery under the hood with USB PD fast charging support. Further, to enhance power management, Sony Xperia 1 III comes with some of the additional features like Xperia Adaptive Charging, Battery Case, Stamina Mode, Battery share function etc. Not only this there is support for QI Wireless charging. For connecting the charger, Sony has provided a Type-C charging port with Sony Xperia 1 III smartphone.
