Vivo Y3s Design
The Vivo Y3s is made of plastic and features a glossy back which is surely going to be a fingerprint magnet if you are using this device without a back cover. Apart from the glossy look, the camera module complements the overall design along with the Vivo branding at the bottom. Speaking of the front, the device carries a waterdrop notch and a prominent chin, making the overall look from the front old school type. The thickness is minimum and the weight is also below 200 grams, so the in-hand feel is going to be good with curved edges on the rear. It is worth mentioning that the device lacks a fingerprint scanner that could be a major disadvantage. Also, the Type-C charging port is missing, instead, a Micro USB port is there at the bottom, which is another design flaw.
Vivo Y3s Display
It has a 6.51-inch Halo FullView Display with HD+ (1600720) resolution, making it ideal for watching movies. Additionally, the screen’s blue light filter prevents eye strain. On top of all that, there is the Vivo Manager, which can do things like clear up leftovers or check for faults at night while you’re not using it. Face Recognition on the Vivo Y3s unlocks the phone as well.
Vivo Y3s Performance
Tickling inside is the Helio P35, which is an entry-level chipset found in most entry-level devices. The chipset is capable of handling daily activities with ease, however, the presence of 2GB RAM is a problem here. So don’t expect any multi-tasking here. Also, the storage is 32GB, which is again negative. As for the software, the Vivo Y3s runs on Android 11 with Funtouch OS 11 skin on top. In terms of connectivity, don’t even expect 5G here.
Vivo Y3s Camera
The camera setup is quite ordinary here. On the rear the device has been provided with a 13MP mono AI camera setup, which is good enough, however, the absence of any other lens, makes it lag behind the competition. On the front, the story is the same, a 5MP selfie camera, which is nothing but useless. If the camera is your main focus, then don’t buy this smartphone.
Vivo Y3s Battery
The Y3s has a big 5000mAh battery with AI power-saving technology, which allows for up to 19 hours of online HD movie streaming and 8 hours of resource-intensive gaming on the device. With the Reverse Charging Technology function on the Vivo Y3s, the phone can also be used to recharge other devices.
Vivo Y3s Verdict
Coming to the verdict, the Vivo Y3s is an overpriced device coming with a meagre camera setup, meagre display, low RAM and storage and an entry-level chipset. You’ll find a decent smartphone at the same price from brands like Realme and Xiaomi.
